About the asset
- In 2024 we completed a net zero carbon audit on Wilton Road with a third-party consultant in collaboration with the building manager. The audit recommended six key actions that are now underway:
- Replacing fluorescent lights with LED lighting to target up to 70% reduction in energy required for lighting.
- Introducing daylight sensors to reduce energy consumption through the dimming or turning off of lights when sufficient daylight is present.
- Integrating a heat recovery system into the asset’s current Air Handling Unit (AHU), to reduce heating demand and related costs.
- Replacing gas boilers with air source heat pumps to electrify the heating process thereby improving energy efficiency and creating an ‘all-electric’ building.
5.Installing photovoltaic (PV) panels.
6. End of journey facilities are being introduced including 100 bike racks, 11 showers and 119 lockers.
After completion of the works the asset is modelled to be in alignment with CRREM’s latest 1.5 degree pathway data through to 2050 – reducing the stranding risk – and on target to achieve an EPC B rating.
