International real estate investment manager Savills Investment Management (Savills IM) has appointed Alain Pérez Egaña Head of Transactions for Spain & Portugal, strengthening its team in the region. He joined Savills IM’s Madrid office in December and reports to Fernando Ramírez de Haro.

Pérez Egaña has over 15 years’ experience in real estate investment and finance, specialising in the Iberian market. Before joining Savills IM, he was Transactions Manager Iberia at AXA Investment Managers, participating in transactions worth €2 billion. Previously, he held various roles in AXA’s Real Assets area in Iberia, including in Sales & Lettings.

As Transactions Manager Iberia at AXA Investment Managers, he led acquisitions and divestments in Spain and Portugal, overseeing deal analysis and execution. Prior to that, he was part of the Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield, advising investors on sales and acquisitions and on creating opportunities in various real estate market segments.

Fernando Ramírez de Haro, Head of Spain & Portugal, said:
“The Iberian Peninsula is a strategic market for Savills Investment Management, with a well-established platform and an active opportunity pipeline. Alain’s appointment will further strengthen our capabilities as we continue to prioritise investment discipline, long-term returns and the highly selective execution of new transactions.”

Alain Pérez Egaña, Head of Transactions for Spain & Portugal, added:
“This is a very exciting challenge. Savills Investment Management’s platform is in a phase of evident maturity. The firm combines a strong local footprint with a global perspective, enabling it to identify attractive opportunities and support investors, always with a rigorous approach and a long-term focus on sustainable value creation.”

Savills IM currently manages 34 assets in Spain and Portugal totalling around €1.2 . The firm has been operating in Iberia since 2018, with its Madrid office currently comprising a team of 16 people.
